The Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team? Nope! Did you know Toronto has an incredibly rich baseball history? Babe Ruth actually hit his first home run in Toronto at Hanlan’s Point, playing for the Providence Clamdiggers against the Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball team. The team played at Hanlan’s Point from 1897-1926 and then shifting to Maple Leaf Stadium from 1926-1967, the Toronto Maple Leafs saw glory and now rank among the 100 greatest minor league teams ever. When the team folded in 1967, Toronto would go a decade without a professional baseball—until the 1977 MLB expansion that brought the Toronto Blue Jays to the Major Leagues.
Celebrate the history of Toronto baseball with this super soft light weight tee featuring the alternate team logo patch.
