The October 1946 SPORT Magazine Cover featured the United States Military Academy at West Point’s legendary backfield of Fullback Doc Blanchard and Halfback Glenn Davis. In 1945, Blanchard was the very first College Junior to win the Heisman Trophy and Maxwell Award as the best player in college football. Not to be out done, Davis would win the Heisman Trophy the following season in 1946. the pair would lead the Academy to three straight National Championships (1944-46).
SPORT Magazine, which ran from 1946 to 2000, celebrated what its editors accurately anticipated would be the coming explosion of interest in professional and amateur sport in post-war North America. For your item to be eligible for return it must be in its original packaging, unopened and in the same state as you received it. It must also be in its original packaging.
