Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians/Guardians graces the cover of the June 1947 edition of the SPORT Magazine. A baseball phenom, Feller would debut for the Indians at just 17 years of age. Considered one of the best pitchers of his era by the fellow Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Stan Musial, Feller was an 8-time All-Star, won the 1940 Triple Crown, the 1948 World Series and would record over 2500 career strikeouts.
SPORT Magazine, which ran from 1946 to 2000, celebrated what its editors accurately anticipated would be the coming explosion of interest in professional and amateur sport in post-war North America.
