It had been almost 40 years since Babe Ruth had set the all-time home run record at 714 career home runs, but now Hank Aaron was ready to take over the title. In a regular season game against Los Angeles, Aaron stepped up for his second at bat of the night. After taking a ball, Aaron smacked the next pitch into deep left field to claim his throne as home run king.
