One of the greatest games in league history, the Epic in Miami, which some have called “the game no one should have lost”. This play sent the game to overtime which even there, had two missed game-winning field goals before San Diego would eventually win it, 13 minutes and 52 seconds into overtime.

San Diego star, LaDainian Tomlinson, had one of the greatest seasons by any football player ever. Ending the season with 31 rushing touchdowns, he broke Shaun Alexander’s record of 28 in a December game against Denver. With today’s pass-heavy offenses, it’s likely this record may stand for eternity.

This conference final had it all for San Diego. The legendary Junior Seau had 16 tackles with a pinched nerve, Humphries found Martin on a 43-yard catch late in the 4th to take the lead, and then San Diego held Pittsburgh on 4 straight Goal-to-Go plays to clinch the conference championship.

In a playoff matchup against Manning’s Indy team, the game into overtime where Darren Sproles bounced to the outside for a touchdown to win it. Only getting the start due to L.T being injured the week before, Sproles finished with 328 all-purpose yards, the 3rd highest in league playoff history.
