After losing to Chicago in the playoffs for two straight seasons, Vancouver squandered a 3-0 lead and allowed Chicago to force a game 7. Fans were nervous, and of course fear crept in that Chicago still had their number. The nailbiter went into OT only for Burrows to finally slay the dragon!

As the seven seed, it seemed improbable that the Canucks would be one win away from reaching the Stanley Cup, leading the WCF series 3-1. Playing in front of hometown fans, game 5 went into Double OT where Greg Adams found himself in front of the net only14 seconds after the puck dropped.
